What is your professional/educational background?
For two and a half years, I worked as an HR analyst. The first company was in IT, and the second one was in FMCG. The responsibilities in the first focused on compensation and benefits. For the second, the focus was on reporting and analyzing HR operations such as turnover rate, compensation range, training and development, and gender equality.
What made you decide to do an MBA? Why the GLOBIS MBA?
I was fortunate enough to see the compensation range of both industries in all positions and levels. Observing those with high income and talent, I noticed they share a certain working experience and also an MBA from a famous school abroad. So, I started to wonder if having an MBA allows you to be fundamentally strong in business so that you can be assigned to any department.
GLOBIS was generous enough to offer a scholarship, as well as a trial class in Bangkok. In addition, Japan is the country of my dreams. However, the trigger point was the Kokorozashi principle. Based on my research, GLOBIS might be the only international program that focuses on passion instead of numbers.
How are you finding life in Japan?
Never been better!!! I have been eating and traveling a lot. The class environment is similar to my previous workplace, which contains an eagerness to learn with diverse people from different backgrounds and nationalities.
What can you tell me about the other students in the program?
My classmates are so full of energy and eagerness to learn. I learn not only about their opinions and corporate expertise but also their culture and philosophy in life. Those have really broadened my perspectives, both in business and life.
What changes have you seen since starting the MBA?
To be honest, I started to gain more confidence in being a successful businessman and started being paranoid at the same time. Those case studies and class discussions really built up my capabilities and broadened my mind. But, at the same time, I understand more now how tough it is to make a decision that will affect thousands of people, both internally and externally.
What are your plans after the MBA? Do you intend to stay in the same industry or pivot your career?
I was decisive from the beginning of the program that I will be heading back to Thailand after graduation. I would love to get some more exposure to the consulting position, since I would like to see up to what extent my MBA skills can be applied in business.
